Quiltfest - A Pieceful Paradise

The Utah Quilt Guild held its annual QUILTFEST during the last part of September and what a great time it was! Some of you may remember donating a tropical or otherwise wild and fun fat quarter at our September meeting for a centerpiece that was auctioned off. Well, here it is! It was so darling!

Sherron figured out the cutest way to put all of our tropical fat quarters, some cute drink glasses, a fun drink mix in a punch bowl with a few other Pieceful Paradise items together to auction off for the Utah Quilt Guild. Thanks Sherron for doing such a great job! It was wonderful to have the Heber Valley Quilters support the state guild. Thanks ladies for donating!

Shantelle and Deonn were instructors from our guild this year at Quiltfest. They each taught classes to other ladies sharing their great talents and excitement. Barbara M. is the President-elect for the Utah Quilt Guild, so she was there also in a great tropical ORANGE dress and lei helping oversee the events for the week.

Deonn and Debbie took advantage of the OPEN SEW area and started their darling Buggy Barn witches together. They turned out so cute!

Kim Shannon had a GORGEOUS booth in the vendor mall with her fun store, noveltyquiltfabrics.com. (There is a link to the left.) Kim, her mother, and Kami manned the booth selling cute cute fabric and had it looking wonderful with over 2000 ladies swarming the area!

Here it is ladies - KayeDawn's fun fun springtime quilt that won a gorgeous ribbon in the Machine Applique division of the quilt show. We are proud of you KayeDawn, you do great work!

This is just a quilt that caught my eye, I loved the snail trail blocks, and then when you got closer, you could see she had pieced in a bunch of snails. I thought it was darling. I should have written down the name of the artist, sorry.

This is just another beautiful quilt I liked in the quilt show. There were so many nice nice quilts and what a treat it was to go see them! For those of you that could not attend Quiltfest this year, get ready for next year. What a great time and experience it is! In 2010, Barbara has arranged for Quiltfest to be at Zermott in Midway! Hooray Barbara! I saw quite a few ladies from our guild at Quiltfest and if any of you want to share some of the projects you made or started in some of the classes, email me a picture and I will put it on the blog.
